Antonio is one of the masters of The Taxco School, Taxquenos, orig. 1930s, flourished in the ‘40s and ‘50s; Antonio's career has remained vibrant through the ‘70s and is highly collectible today. As an apprentice of William Spratling, recognized master silversmith of Taxco, and sterling, Mexican jewelry, he later opened his own "taller" in 1941 and becoming a master in his own right and his high career was ‘50s through ‘70s for his modernist style with pre-Colombian stylizations.
Recent auction prices on old hallmarked vintage Taxco silversmith masters have held their own when other more traditional fine jewelry has taken a dive.
Note second photo shows sterling bow pin/brooch and open braided sterling vintage ring - they are listed separately.
