Required Skills:

• Have created or been the lead developer on at least 3 large scale Ruby on Rails projects (typically at least 2-3 years experience)
• Strong skills in development, OO architecture and design, and SQL and database design
• Experience in developing large scale, high traffic web applications deployed in UNIX environments (knowledge of sphinx and/or memcached would be a big plus)
• Local environment is a Mac
• Fluent working in a test/behaviour driven development life-cycle (rSpec/Cucumber/Shoulda/AutoTest/CC.rb)
• You avoid Java at all costs
• Consistent at writing bug free code; or to be modest, very well tested code
• Can't imagine a project not being managed without GIT (or at least SVN)

Desired Skills:

• PHP Experience (we have a couple projects using it)
• Familiarity with API functionality and how to build features for one
• Experience developing with Amazon AWS infrastructure (EC2/S3)
• Love to use AJAX to keep the interface fluent and engaging (jQuery preferred)
• Familiarity with browser capabilities and restrictions
• Have deployed at least one Merb app in the wild
• Believer that tables are for eating off of... and not for building a webpage with
