Hello to all my new friends in Colorado. I'm Oso, the newest Golden fellow to join GRRR. I have quite the story to tell you about my past.I came from a small town in New Mexico where I was the "official" street dog. I lived on the main street of town for my first year. I madea lot of friends and quickly learned how to sit and look adorable for scraps of food. I know a few obedience commands, and somewhere along the line I learned how to walk gently on leash. Then I got hit by a car, and that ended my street dog days. I went to the very small, crowded town shelter where there were 50 dogs all living in one tiny room. Unfortunately they didnt have funds available for me to have surgery on my hip/leg.After arriving in Colorado, I visited GRRRs wonderful doctor who did a cat scan said Im doing well. My new forever home shouldnt be with a runner or avid hiker, but Im not in any pain. My one leg is just shorter from the fracture caused by the car (its about 2 inches shorter than the other). I only use it for balance because the muscle is not very developed. I definitely have a lot of street smarts, but what I'm really longing for is a family to call my own. My foster mom says Im very playful and love the incredible TOYS at her house. I've heard that some Goldens get to live with people in their houses. Wouldn't it be wonderful if my journey leads me to you? With my background and experience, I'm sure to be an incredibly loyal and devoted companion. I know what it's like to not know where my next meal is coming from, and I will always be grateful to you for your love and kindness. Ah, a family and home to call my own. I just can't wait!
