Hello. I'm Sahara - which is fitting because I was found abandoned in the desert with my puppies. Not to worry though, my puppies and I were rescued and are settling nicely into our new foster homes. I am housetrained and crate trained, but would be fine left alone loose in your home. I have had a number of litters of puppies and although I loved everyone of them I am so happy that I won't ever have to have another litter again! I am quickly learning about all the creature comforts that life has to offer; like a comfy bed to sleep in, fresh water, a full food dish, and love and attention whenever I approach my foster Mom with a little wag of the tail. Life is so good in rescue and I am quickly learning what it means to be a carefree retriever from my canine foster siblings. I also have a new cat foster brother and although he is pretty cute just lazing about, I pretty much ignore him. I do have an eye that is causing me some discomfort so I am going into the vet to have surgery to remove that eye- I will probably feel so much better that I will not even notice it is missing. Oh- and I forgot to mention that I am a beautiful 6-year old yellow lab. Please think about me, I really want a place I can finally call home! We require an application, phone interview and home visit prior to adoption. We will not discuss a specific dog with an applicant until the adoption process is completed. Our adoption fee for dogs under 9 months is $250, dogs between 9 months and 8 years is $195 and our super seniors are $175. Please visit our website for more information. Thank you!
