Conure - Small - Adult - Male - Bird - Oscar
Description
Oscar is a 10 year old, male, Nanday Conure. Oscar was named for the muppet, "Oscar the Grouch". He was purchased from a pet store at the very young age of 10 weeks. He already had a reputation for meanness and biting! Once home he was able forget the need to bite. In his new home a young Sun Conure took him under her wing, literally. The two were wonderful friends until the Sun Conure was killed by an aggressive female Eclectus. This was a tragic outcome and Oscars family decided to give him the opportunity for a new life, free of worry about attacks. His family made this painful decision and has provided many pictures and much information about Oscars previous life. The most important thing being that Oscar would love a bird friend. Here at the aviary he met Jell-O, another Nanday Conure, at The Gabriel Foundation and the two have become fast friends! We call them the epilets as they enjoy each taking a shoulder and just hanging out. Conures in general can have a very loud, piercing squawk and these 2 are no exception. Delightful and playful, these 2 guys can be quite a fun addition to any family who are okay with the noise level they can generate during the day.
